Minimally Invasive Treatment of Kidney Stones

Dr. Boon specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of kidney stones.  He has a special interest in minimally invasive treatments for kidney stones including extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), ureteroscopy with laser treatment, and percutaneous procedures for larger stones.  

Procedures are typically performed on an outpatient basis with patients going back to work the next day with few restrictions.

Dr. Boon also has a special interest in medical treatment of kidney stones for patients who are chronic stone formers.  Many patients are able to prevent the stones from returning by taking medication or changing their diets.
