Dr. John Boon is a board-certified urologist who practices urology with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. His other specialization areas include the diagnosis and treatment of prostate enlargement, prostate cancer, kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, infertility, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, blood in the urine, vasectomy, and elevated PSA.
After growing up in Ennis, TX, Dr. Boon attended Baylor University in Waco, TX. He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He then went on to complete a General Surgery internship in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery. After his internship, Dr. Boon completed his residency in the Scott Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Boon's research includes creating training models for minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He proctors other urologists, teaching them the latest techniques in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. Multiple members of Dr. Boon’s family have been affected by urologic cancer, giving him a unique perspective on patient care.
Dr. Boon enjoys reading (classics), hunting (deer), guitar, golf, fishing, eating, and singing.
